ChecktheFirmware
Firmwareissoftwarethatdeterminesthefunctionalityofnetworkdevices.Oneofyourrstactionswhentroubleshootingaproblem
shouldbetocheckthecurrentrmwareversion.Thelatestversionmaycontainacorrectionthatxesyourparticularproblem.The
currentrmwareversionintheAxisproductisdisplayedinthepageSetup>AdditionalControllerConguration>BasicSetupand
inSetup>AdditionalControllerConguration>About.
UpgradetheFirmware
Important
Yourdealerreservestherighttochargeforanyrepairattributabletofaultyupgradebytheuser.
Preconguredandcustomizedsettingsaresavedwhenthermwareisupgraded(providingthefeaturesareavailableinthe
newrmware)althoughthisisnotguaranteedbyAxisCommunicationsAB.
Note
Aftertheupgradeprocesshascompleted,theproductwillrestartautomatically.Ifrestartingtheproductmanuallyafter
theupgrade,alwayswait5minutesevenifyoususpecttheupgradehasfailed.
Becausethedatabaseofusers,groups,credentials,andotherdatawillbeupdatingafterarmwareupgrade,therst
start-upcouldtakeafewminutestocomplete.Thetimerequiredisdependentontheamountofdata.
WhenyouupgradetheAxisproductwiththelatestrmwarefromAxiswebsite,theproductreceivesthelatestfunctionality
available.Alwaysreadtheupgradeinstructionsandreleasenotesavailablewitheachnewreleasebeforeupgrading
thermware.
Toupgradetheproduct’srmware:
1.Savethermwareletoyourcomputer.ThelatestversionofthermwareisavailablefreeofchargefromAxiswebsite
atwww.axis.com/techsup
2.GotoSetup>AdditionalControllerConguration>SystemOptions>Maintenanceintheproduct’swebpages.
3.UnderUpgradeServer,clickBrowseandlocatetheleonyourcomputer.ClickUpgrade.
4.Waitapproximately5minuteswhiletheproductisbeingupgradedandrestarted.Thenclearthewebbrowser'scache.
5.Accesstheproduct.
EmergencyRecoveryProcedure
Ifpowerornetworkconnectionislostduringtheupgrade,theprocessfailsandtheproductbecomesunresponsive.FlashingredStatus
indicatorindicatesafailedupgrade.Torecovertheproduct,followthestepsbelow.Theserialnumberisfoundontheproduct’slabel.
