Video
Overlay
An overlay can be text or an image superimposed over the video image. The overlay image can be used to provide extra information,
or to mask a part of the video image. See the online help
for supported imag e for mats and sizes.
To use your own image, such as a logo, rst upload the image to the Axis product. G o to Video > Overlay Image,browseforand
upload the image le on the computer. The lecanthenbeselectedfromtheUse overlay image drop-down list.
To place an overlay image at spe cic coordinates, go to Video > Video Stream and select the Include overlay image a t coordinates
check bo x option and enter the X and Y coordinates.
AstextoverlayitispossibletoincludethenameoftheOSDIzone,seeOSDI Zones, on page 21; to vie w the current bit rate as overlay
text, go to Video > Video Stream > Overlay Settings,selecttheInclude text check box option, and enter the code #b in the eld.

Privacy Mask
A privacy mask is an area of solid color that prohibits users f rom viewing parts of the monitored area. It is possible to use up to eight
privacy masks. Privacy masks cannot be bypassed via the VAPIX® Application Programming Interface (API).
The Privacy Mask List (Video > Privacy Mask) shows all the masks that are currently congured in the Axis product and indicates
if they are enable d.
You can add a new mask, re-siz e the mask with the mouse,chooseacolorforthemask,andgivethemaskaname.
