Section 3 Network Configuration
Novell NetWare
The Axis CD-ROM server emulates a NetWare 3.x file server. You do
not need to make any NetWare configuration to start working with
your CD-ROM server.
Microsoft and IBM Network Operating Systems
The Axis CD-ROM server does not need any configuration to be
operational when using Microsoft and IBM network operating
systems such as Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows
NT or OS/2.
UNIX Systems
To use the Axis CD-ROM server in the TCP/IP environment you
have to find an available Internet address and make up a unique host
name for it. For Token Ring CD-ROM servers, the source routing
mode may have to be set up.
Before you begin • You will need root privileges on the system.
• Have the serial number found on the back of the CD-ROM
server available.
• Make sure the CD-ROM server is powered on and attached to the
network.
• Any network configuration should always involve the Network
Administrator.
